Growing up, we didn’t have the luxury of a television set and only had a small pocket-sized radio for family entertainment.
That greatly limited my worldview.
In my teenage years, a more exposed cousin, Alloyse from the plusher Doonholm Estate took me to the movies.
I can’t remember the title of the movie but I can recall vividly watching with fascination how the ladies walked, the way they carried themselves, and how they dined.
An image was planted in my mind.
A possibility. My demeanour shifted. And that had nothing to do with where I was.
I knew this was what I wanted for myself.
Friends, that is how Judy Mzungu went to practise how to hold a fork and a knife – to eat ugali and Sukuma. I was the family joke.๐
That incident shaped my mind.
I learnt not to accept where I was.
I learnt I can become anything.
I applaud my younger self for daring to dream. No matter how small the dream was.
You see, for many of us, we have lived with a limited view of life as a result of where we came from, and our past experiences.
When we are exposed to a new possibility, it’s not about the big steps, it’s about the possibilities that are ignited within us and the small dreams that we can begin to have.
It’s about the small steps we take towards actualising that possibility.
As I think about the Easter season, and the possibility of life in abundance that we have in Christ, I am convinced that our greatest hindrance to living in this reality, is really in our failure to capture the Truth in our mind, and then take small actions towards that life.
It could be as small as allowing yourself to fathom His love for you, seeing yourself live out the fullness of His love, and then consciously Taking small actions to change your lifestyle.
The New Creation reality is about our Minds cooperating with the Truth we have been exposed to, and then our Will taking action to begin to make that Truth our reality.
That’s what our Christian journey is about.
My Purpose as a Kingdom Life Coach is to ignite your spirit to see your possibility in God and open your mind to overcome the past and take small steps towards this reality.
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
